About Jim
Pastor, author, church-planter, Christian television and radio personality, Jim Cantelon is founder and President of WOW–Working for Orphans and Widows, a Federal Charity whose mission is to empower the local church in sub-Saharan Africa and southern India in the care of the sick and the dying. WOW is currently assisting those churches in that mission by providing Home Based Care to vulnerable orphans and widows.
Cantelon’s first book “Theology for Non-Theologians” (Macmillan NY Publishers), continues to be a popular book with those interested in an entry-level introduction to theology. In his book “When God Stood Up–A Christian Response to AIDS in Africa” (Harper Collins, 2007) Jim chronicles his experiences in Africa, confronted by the devastation of the HIV & AIDS
pandemic.

He pastored churches in Montreal (1970–1972), Sudbury (1972–1976), Newmarket (1976–1981), and Broadway Church in Vancouver (1997–2000). Today it is the highest profile evangelical congregation in Israel.
Currently, Jim produces and hosts a national television show called “Jim Cantelon Today” which focuses on biblical exposition with a contemporary, ‘user friendly’ approach. In conjunction with the television program, he has written and published “Cantelon’s Casual Commentary–a 21st Century Guide to the Life of Jesus for The Internet Generation” and most recently, “Opening the Windows of Your Soul–Discovering the life-changing impact of the Lord’s prayer”.
